Logistics Park Logad

Logad GmbH is constructing a logistics warehouse covering over 60,000 m² in Neuenburg am Rhein, Baden-Württemberg. This warehouse will be leased by online retailer Galaxus, which plans to be fully operational there by 2027 at the latest and to store and manage its products there.

WIEHAG Timber Construction was responsible for the structural analysis, detailed design, production and assembly of the components for the roof structure.

Task

Logistics park meets sustainability

The online retailer Galaxus is renting two new logistics warehouses at its Neuenburg am Rhein site. The warehouses were built and leased by Logad GmbH.

WIEHAG was commissioned to carry out the structural analysis, construction planning, production and execution of the timber structure for the larger of the two warehouses, which covers over 60,000 m².

Umsetzung

High roof loads and 24-metre spans

The overall structure consists of reinforced concrete columns and the roof structure consists of 2-field support beams and 296 fish belly saddle roof beams made of glued laminated timber.

The special feature: the 24 m long fish belly saddle roof beams are 20 cm wide and have a static height of 1.45 m in the centre of the beam.

In addition, the 484 m long and 136 m wide hall was divided into 7 fire compartments.
