Since 1 October 2026, Valentin Wiesner, the Great-great-great-Grandson of the company’s founder, has served alongside his father, Erich Wiesner, as Managing Director of WIEHAG Timber Construction and WIEHAG Holding. His appointment marks the beginning of a new chapter in the 177-year history of our family business.

Over the next 18 months, Father and son will oversee the gradual transition to the 6th Generation of Leadership, building on the company’s strong financial position and with clear ambitions for its future development.

GRADUAL TRANSITION
CONTINUITY AND RELIABILITY

Valentin Wiesner’s appointment to WIEHAG’s management marks the beginning of the family company’s transition to its 6th generation.

The leadership transition will take place in several carefully planned stages, in close cooperation with the existing management team. On 1 March 2027, Valentin Wiesner will take over the management of WIEHAG Timber Construction, followed by WIEHAG Bau on 1 September 2027.

Erich Wiesner will gradually step back from operational management. In future, he will represent WIEHAG externally as a brand ambassador while continuing to represent the owners’ interests within WIEHAG Holding.

The generational transition comes at a time of financial strength for WIEHAG. Over several decades, the company has grown into a leading specialist in Engineered Timber Construction, achieving consistent growth and establishing a strong market position. We remain firmly committed to continuing this progress.

Significant investments are currently underway at our Altheim facility in Austria, focusing on automation, digitalisation and sustainability. These developments will expand production capacity, improve efficiency and lay the groundwork for further growth. They also reflect our long-term commitment to remaining at the forefront of the industry through advanced technology and strengthening our competitiveness in international markets.

For Valentin Wiesner, the company’s future development is closely linked to the sustainable transformation of the construction industry. Through WIEHAG, he intends to play an active role in this transition, continuing to take timber construction into new dimensions – architecturally, technologically and in response to climate challenges.
