Holy Blood of
Christ Church
Garden City

In the period between the two world wars, there was a need to build new parish stations in the areas of Vienna beyond the Danube. However, there was little money and so the later prelate Josef Gorbach had an emergency church built in one of the military barracks on the former Jedlese parade ground.
In the 1960s, the decision was made to build a new building on a suitable site. The choice fell on the former football pitch of the FAC. Even in the 1960s, this church was proof of the variety that modern glulam construction could offer architects.
